Where helicopters land
0 viewsOct 5, 2026
Helicopters need only a small square: heliports and helipads, the big H and the hospital's red H, the FATO and the touchdown pad, and pads on roofs, rigs and ships. You also see how countries differ on landing anywhere else.
What you learn
- Tell a heliport from a helipad
- Recognise a hospital helipad by its red H
- Explain what the FATO and the touchdown pad are
- Say when a helicopter may land away from an aerodrome
