Brief description Luftsportclub Borkenberge E. V.

The Luftsportclub Borkenberge e. V. is a German motorflight club based at the private airfield Flugplatz Borkenberge in Lüdinghausen, Germany. Founded in the early 1960s, the club has over 90 members passionate about motorflight from the Münsterland and Ruhrgebiet regions. The club focuses on promoting motorflight sports and offers pilot training culminating in the European Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) (A), requiring at least 30 flight hours with instructors and theoretical blended learning courses.

Its aircraft fleet includes Cessna F150 and F172M aircraft, as well as ultralight aircraft Comco C42 and Aeroprakt A32 L through cooperation with Luftsportclub Recklinghausen e. V. A high-end flight simulator with a realistic cockpit and triple 55-inch 4K screens is available for free to members for training and recreational purposes.

Unique one-day introductory motorflight courses are regularly offered in collaboration with Volkshochschule Münster, combining theory, practical flight experience, and tours of the airfield control tower. The club also supports a "Co-Pilot" membership for aviation enthusiasts who wish to fly without a pilot's license, providing access to club flights and simulator use at favorable rates.

The club is managed by a board of licensed pilots who also conduct flight training. Regular pilot tours and events strengthen the club community and provide diverse flying experiences. Flugplatz Borkenberge, the club's private airfield, is one of the few privately-owned airfields in Germany, creating a unique setting for aviation enthusiasts and student pilots interested in motorflight sports and pilot training.
