Luftsportclub Borkenberge e. V. is a motorflight club based at the private airfield Flugplatz Borkenberge in Germany. Founded in the early 1960s, it has over 90 members from the M fcnsterland and Ruhrgebiet regions who share a passion for aviation. The club focuses on promoting motorflight sports and provides pilot training including the European-valid Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) (A). Its fleet includes Cessna F150 and F172M aircraft, and through a cooperation with Luftsportclub Recklinghausen e. V., ultralight aircraft such as Comco C42 and Aeroprakt A32 L are also accessible to members. The club features a high-end flight simulator equipped with a realistic cockpit, three 55-inch 4K displays, and a motion seat, all available free to members for training and recreation.
LSC Borkenberge organizes unique one-day motorflight trial courses in cooperation with Volkshochschule M fcnster, providing participants practical flight experience and theoretical knowledge in aerodynamics, meteorology, air law, and navigation. It also supports a "co-pilot" membership category that allows aviation enthusiasts without pilot licenses to fly as co-pilots at club rates and enjoy simulator access and community engagement.
The club operates out of Flugplatz Borkenberge, one of the few privately owned airfields in Germany. Managed by licensed pilots who provide training, LSC Borkenberge actively arranges flying tours and events, fostering a strong community spirit and valuable opportunities for student pilots and aviation enthusiasts seeking pilot education and authentic flying experiences.
