Hanseatischer Fliegerclub Hamburg e.V. is a well-established flying club located at Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel International Airport (EDDH). It offers a qualified and engaged pilot training program for private pilot license (PPL) and night VFR (NVFR), delivered by experienced instructors including professional pilots and air traffic controllers. The club maintains a technically well-serviced fleet of training and travel aircraft, including IFR-equipped models such as various Cessna 172 variants, Piper PA-28 models, and a Cirrus SR20. Comprehensive theoretical training covers air law, meteorology, navigation, and other relevant subjects, followed by practical flight training with individual mentorship. Located on the grounds of Lufthansa Technik AG, access to the club requires authorization, but members benefit from well-maintained infrastructure near a major international airport. The club emphasizes safety, cost-effective flying, and a strong community spirit with social events and club evenings. More than 600 students have obtained their private pilot license at the club since its foundation, accumulating over 23,500 training flight hours.
